![]() There is no other product with this kind of potential for me. should have read the small print, oh well. Not only do I find it comfortable to carry, but it means you can keep the pack on, put your tripod up and swing the waist pack round. I've even used it with a 5 series, only problem there is you can't fit all the legs through the loop, so I just have an additional strap that goes round the legs to keep them together. I replaced the little shock-cord loop on the left side of the pack that the legs go into with something less elastic, otherwise I found it bounced around too much. I mostly use it with a Gitzo 2 Series Mountaineer, 2-2/5Kg depending on head. ![]() This doesn't help with carry-on, but I find this works really well for me. ![]() Probably there are better solutions, think about the Origami system of the Atlas Athlete. I have a few but only use them at the top of my backpacks because the sides are soft. The 50+ with the SMP in place is REALLY flirting with carry-on restrictions, even in North America, where it is rather lax.Īre the Tenba BYOB bags an option for you? Secondly, without the SMP, I hope I can cinch down the bag because the upper half should be soft sided, like Shimoda. I did not opt for the SMP because I don't want to carry that much camera gear. Basically, all things that I would access when I'm working with a tripod, and the bag is off anyway. I'm thinking my Haida filter kit, Nisi filter case, Nikon 45mm PC-E, nodal rail will also go in the upper section. I like to side-mount the legs to the bag, but it's too heavy to side mount the legs + head together. Comfortable to carry but also means you don't have to take the pack off when using tripod. What do you mean about Tripod items? I use the MIndshift tripod harness, I think it works really well. Sounds like we might get them similar time then.
